girly bones.

my best friend is a four year old.

my little sister, chloe, is probably my best friend. other than josh.
sometimes i feel like i'm talking to someone my own age.
i realize that sounds crazy, but she's so witty, sarcastic, and smart.
it's very cute and endearing.
we've been hanging out a bit this morning.
she recently ditched me, though. (thanks, clo.)

i have class today. my only one this week, but i'm still feel very blaahhh about it.
i'm so over this semester.
it'll be over in about two weeks, and then i have a little over a month off.
i'm excited to start next semester.
i have a bunch of art classes, and i think i'll enjoy them.
crossing my fingers. i hope i don't jinx myself...
after next semester, i have no idea what will happen.
in a way that's exciting, but also completely terrifying.
i know in the fall i'll only be taking online classes, what with getting married and moving away.
but after that...what do i do! BAH.

this house is freezing.
i need a space heater.

when i got home a few minutes ago, i walked through the garage. 
my parents had a yard sale a few weeks ago, and there's still a bunch of stuff just sitting in boxes.
i looked into one box and saw a little brown leather purse just laying on top, begging to be used!
i picked it up, and it's totally cute.
there's no damages to it or anything.
the actual bag itself is smaller than the type i usually like, but it has a really long, skinny, adjustable strap.
and i'm absolutely in love with it.
i've been wanting a new bag, and one just like it, so i'm pretty excited about my lovely, vintage find.
i can't wait to use it.

i hate when i'm drinking hot cocoa, the swiss miss kind, and it comes with the packet of marshmallows to pour in, and before you can even drink it...the marshmallows melt into the hocho.
i mean, it's kiiind of a rip-off.
i found this really neat kind of cocoa once.
it was nestle. and the marshmallows were little rabbit heads (that sounds gross, sorry.)
because of the nestle rabbit.
it's cute!

josh and i have been saving our change for a few days and we've already worked up to $31.00.
i'm very excited about this.
i don't know exactly what we're saving for. just life, i guess! 
but, it's still fun. 

today, we had to give our cats away for good. :(
i was completely heartbroken, because we were having to take them to the pound.
we were out of options.
but, then. they said they couldn't take them, because they were full.
and all of a sudden, by chance, we ran into this kid we know.
and he said he could take them to his dad's house. :)
it's not ideal, but it's obviously better than the pound. clearly.

yesterday, i was in st. louis, for a doctor appointment, which went nowhere.
but while my mom and i were there we visited with some family friends.
we went to the mall. and this mall has the most giant forever 21 i've ever seen in my entire life.
it's incredible. and i was so heartbroken because i had no d's for all the beautiful things.
i wanted to cry. which i realize is a little pathetic and silly.
but, i'm in desperate need of clothes. so there.

i am also in desperate need of readers.
this blog is crashing and burning.

adventureland.

i watched "adventureland" last night. 
it wasn't at all what i expected it to be. i thought it was going to be a comedy, and maybe even explore the aspect of working at a theme park a little more.
now, the fact that it didn't really do the latter, that's whatever.
but it ended up being this super dramatic movie.
and all this crazy stuff was happening, and kristin stewart was really sluttin' it up.
it was still a good movie, just not what i thought it was going to be.

there was this one part that i really liked and felt myself identifying with.
joel and james are sitting on this big, grassy hill.
while frigo is shooting off fireworks, and just generally acting a fool.
but joel and james are talking about their futures and life.
and joel says something like, what's the point to being a writer or an artist? and mentions how when herman melville died, he was so forgotten and unknown, that in his obituary he was called "henry."
and james responds saying how it basically didn't matter, because herman melville was so passionate about his craft, and what he had to say.
and james says, "i hope they call me henry."

and you know what?
i don't mind if "they" call me henry, either.

girly bones: the shop.

i am very excited to announce that before the weekend is over, my etsy shop will be up and running.
i've finally got a substantial amount of work to offer.
hopefully work that people will enjoy.
:)

i've spent my night requesting information from various art schools across the country. 
i'm excited to get catalogs and things from these places in the mail.
to me, they're always so fun to look through.
the not so fun part of it all, is thinking of actually applying to some of these places eventually...
it's that fear of rejection, you know?
i have to start working on a portfolio soon, i guess.

i'm still seriously struggling with what i want to do in my life, though.
mostly i just want to be happy and have fun.
not to be all "june cleaver," but the only thing i've ever really cared about is being a mom and a wife.

i have to work from 4 til 10 tonight.
maybe if i had a cooler job, i wouldn't mind, but i work in a grocery store.
and i stand in the customer service booth all night.
IT'S A REAL THRILL.
being there just feels like a huge, massive waste of time.
i have to stay til january, tho. at least.
i have two weeks of paid vacation coming my way! 

 in other news, i can't find my copy of the movie "clue."
and i am way less than pleased about this.

get a move on.

josh and i had to move out of "the well." (music venue.)
it's been closed down, and there's just a lot of ridiculous drama surrounding it.
it's nothing he has done, tho. thank goodness. :)

now that we're out of there, we have to find a real place.
we're pretty sure we have.
most likely we'll be moving into this duplex.
we went and checked it out yesterday.
it's really nice. the only downside is that it's all tile.
that's fine, tho. we'll just get some cute rugs!

our friend matt is going to stay with us until he moves to san francisco.

this also means we'll get to have a puppy soon.

i'm actually very pleased about this.
and it feels like i'm growing up or something.
i'm moving into my own place. sort of.
our place.

BUT. until it's ready, i'm staying with my family, and josh is staying with his.
i'm not a fan of being apart.
i sound like a little baby, but MAYBE I AM.

where am i going?

for as long as i can remember, i've never, ever wanted a conventional, typical life.
i don't mean to sound all high and mighty, but in a way, i've always thought i was too neat for that.
for me, this would simply be settling.
it's just not what i want at all.
of course i want some aspects of a "normal" life: husband, children, a place to call home.
but, i want to always be having fun and being exciting. 
and i don't think that's out of the question, or too much to ask. 

i've decided that if i stay in school, i'll be working towards an art major.

i'm tired of this place, this town.
it's like i'm stuck in a rut, and i really need to, have to get out.

currently, i'm trying to convince josh that we should move somewhere in january.
he seems to be actually considering it.
well, i hope he is.
i think it'd be a really great experience.

six months.

yesterday, October 30th, was josh and i's 6 month-a-versary.

it was very happy and sweet. 
he had to work until five, but when he got home, it was the best time.
i made him a giant card/painting of us, with a love letter painted on, also.
he said that when we get a real house, he's going to hang it up. :)

we had to go to wal-mart a little later, and when i opened the passenger door to get in, there were balloons, to represent each month we'd been together. (6-1=5. because one escaped.)
and on each balloon was a card, saying something sweet about that specific month.
and he got some sparkling juice.
and raspberry chocolate.
just trying to be all cute-headed. 
it was just the nicest thing. and it made me cry a little. (shhh.)

i'm so happy and i love that we're in love.

later that night, on the way to dinner, i turned the passenger mirror down, and on it he had taped a little card that said: "i'm driving. hug my arm!"
what a big ol' cute. :)

i've got the love of my life, man of my dreams.
this isn't meant to be boastful or anything of that nature.
i'm just so happy that we have a real love and i'm proud of this.
and to people who say this stuff isn't real, it truly is.
and it's the best thing of all.

this is day two of being up past four o clock in the morning. 
luckily, i'm off work until monday. 
somehow, i have to break this before sunday night, because then it's back to a normal routine.

last night's 4 am adventures were dreadful.

i live with my boyfriend.
we live in a music venue.
glamourous, right? of course.
but, a couple of mornings ago, the landlord just busted in unannounced.
so, 5 am yesterday, i wanted to get up and paint, but i was too afraid he might come barging in again.
also, i couldn't go in the office.
why?
well, this makes for another awkward situation.
this kid that works for josh is living with us.
and i maybekindasorta told his ex girlfriend that he possibly cheated on her and has been fooling around with her best friend.
i'm normally not one to get in on the drama, but being a fellow girl, i just couldn't stand by and allow this nonsense to happen.
so, the point is, if this boy woke up and came to work in the office, i'd feel incredibly awkward.
confrontation isn't really my strongsuit.

(screw him, though. i'm pretty pissed because i think he ate my oatmeal cookies and he for sure let a bunch of girls eat my spaghettio's tonight.)

i'm off to watch "madeline."
and hopefully drift off to josh snoring beside me.
